- Flattering, Not Grotesque: Bold, friendly likenesses that guests are happy to show off - a pleasant caricature rather than an unkind one.
- Paper Or iPad: Black and white on paper, indoors or out, or full colour drawn on iPad and indoors only.
- Around Ten Guests An Hour: Paper portraits take about five minutes each, so around ten A4 portraits an hour; colour iPad portraits run at about six an hour.
- Printed On The Spot: iPad caricatures are printed on photographic paper there and then, and can also be sent straight to guests' phones.
- Your Logo On The Paper: For corporate events a logo or short message can be printed along the bottom of the A4 sheets.
- Fully Insured: Carries public liability insurance and arrives early to set up and agree the best spot with you.
Charming Caricatures brings friendly, flattering live caricature to weddings, parties and corporate events. With a background in architecture and design, he draws with bold, confident marker lines, and his style is deliberately pleasant rather than grotesque - guests often say they look better in the drawing than in real life.
There are two ways to book. Traditional caricatures are drawn in black marker on A4 card for single portraits, handed over in a clear protective sleeve, or on A3 for couples and groups, at around five minutes a face. Digital caricatures are drawn in colour on iPad, printed on photographic paper on the spot and sent to guests' phones, at around six an hour. Paper works indoors and out; iPad is for indoor events.
He works seated, which keeps the quality high and the queue moving, and he can take his drawing board to guests if the party moves out onto a terrace. Corporate clients can have their logo printed on the paper, and he arrives early to set up and lay out a few sample drawings so guests know what to expect.
