Ben Sharp, magician, lit by neon stage lighting in a tailored suit and sunglasses

Magic Circle magician for weddings, corporate events, festivals and private parties – available across the UK and Ireland

Ben Sharp – Magic Circle Magician

A magician who learned his craft in front of music crowds – sharp, funny sleight of hand with a mod’s eye for style, honed on tour with some of Britain’s best-loved bands.

Magic with a soundtrack – and the timing of a headline act

Ben Sharp is a member of The Magic Circle who built his reputation somewhere most magicians never go: the support slot at a sold-out rock gig, where the crowd is loud, sceptical and has come to see somebody else.

That is a hard room, and it shaped the act. Everything is fast, funny and visual, with no dead air and nothing that needs a hushed audience to land. He has toured with The Libertines, Paul Weller and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, played festivals from Kaleidoscope to Shiiine On, and appeared on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM.

Music runs through the whole show – the styling, the pacing, the choice of soundtrack – which is why he works so well at events where the entertainment has to hold its own against a bar, a band and a room full of people already having a good time. He got his first magic set at six, turned professional at twenty, and still practises four or five hours a day.

Card magic up close

Pure sleight of hand – a borrowed deck, no camera tricks and nothing to hide behind.

The impossible card trick

The kind of routine that has people replaying it to work out where it went.

Two ways to book him

The act works at two very different scales, and plenty of events use both across one night – close-up through the drinks, then a stage set once everybody is seated.

  • Stage show – a full paced set with music, comedy and audience participation, built for a room that is already buzzing
  • Close-up and mix-and-mingle – sleight of hand at arm’s length during receptions, table to table, or around a bar
  • Festivals and live events – a support-slot set that holds a music crowd’s attention
  • Corporate and after-dinner – launches, awards nights, client evenings and conference breaks
