A pickpocket with impeccable manners

The Gentleman Pickpocket is a full-time professional magician and a member of The Magic Circle, and one of only a small number of UK performers who specialise in theatrical pickpocketing.

He is warm, quick-witted and very easy company, which is exactly what makes him dangerous. While a guest is enjoying the conversation, their phone is already in his hand, their watch has left their wrist or their tie is hanging over his arm. The rest of the group are let in on the secret and watch it happen. The victim is usually the last to know, and nothing is ever kept.

He also works the other way round. “Putpocketing” means quietly slipping something into a guest’s pocket - a business card, a branded message or a playing card they signed a few minutes earlier - for them to discover later. Between the steals there is sharp, funny close-up magic with cards and borrowed objects, performed right under the guests’ noses.
